Sole proprietors · a business not on your dashboard

Your business is not on your dashboard. Bring it back.

Your dashboard may not show a business of yours, often one registered before this system. You bring it back online, with the number printed on your Business ID certificate.

This leaflet is for a business that is not on your dashboard. A licence has its own leaflet. Bring back a licence →

Look for your business

What you need: the number on your Business ID certificate, and a photograph of the certificate.

1

Under Businesses, press Find my business.

Your dashboard, Businesses: Don't see your sole proprietorship? with the Find my business button
2

Type the Business ID number from your certificate, then press Find my record.

What the screen tells you

The screen shows one of these. Find yours: each case continues from that screen up to Send my request.

OBFC finds your business in its old list

1

The screen shows your business as OBFC kept it before this system. Check it is yours.

The business as OBFC kept it: Business ID number, trade name, district, activities and licences
2

Attach your Business ID certificate. Other documents can be added beside it.

Prove this record is yours: Your Business ID certificate, required, and Other supporting documents
3

Complete what is missing. Your email and the phone code are already filled in.

Turnover, employees, the registered office, telephone, email and the place of business
4

Remove an activity you no longer run and add each one printed on your certificate. For a licence OBFC does not hold, copy its dates from the licence certificate and attach it.

Your activities, with the licence number and the business name each one had
5

Tick the declaration and press Validate the form.

The declaration, Try another number and Validate the form
6

On the next page, press Send my request.

What you get: your business back on your dashboard, with Renew and Update, under the same number and with no new certificate. The licences that belong to it come with it: you do not claim them one by one.

Your business number is already on another person's dashboard

Your business

OBFC cannot recover this business online

1

The screen says why: a company number, a business already on your dashboard, or a number in use today that OBFC's old files do not hold. An OBFC officer at the counter can help. Your request stays as a draft under My Applications, where you can delete it.

This number belongs to a company, not a sole proprietorship

What happens next

You receive an email when your request is approved or refused. If OBFC asks for corrections, the request comes back to you under My Applications.

1
You receive a receipt by email when an OBFC officer must check your request.
2
OBFC confirms the business is yours, asks you for corrections, or refuses with a reason.
3
It is on your dashboard, and you renew it like any other.
If it is refused Nothing changes on your dashboard, and the message carries the reason. With another document, an OBFC officer at the counter can help.
